The beach renourishment project is moving along and is planning to begin in Pelican Bay after the holiday break. However, construction activities have temporarily ceased during the Christmas break and through January 2.

Work will expect to begin Monday, January 3 starting at marker R37 and progressing north to Vanderbilt Beach Road. Marker 36, Bay Colony and the Ritz will be impacted for 2-3 weeks as the project moves through those areas. This area will affect direct access to the gulf with the transport of material and movement of heavy equipment. All residents should be mindful of this schedule and exercise extreme caution during this time.

It is important to note that sailboat and beach kayak use will be suspended between markers R37 and R35.

Clam Pass maintenance construction will be put on hold until after the beach nourishment at North Beach is complete to make sure that construction activities are occurring at only one of the two beach access areas at any given time.
