Approval Required for all Exterior Projects
If you are planning to make any changes/additions to the exterior of your home or property, (for example: adding a room; painting the house, – even if it is the same color; updating your landscaping; adding a fence; adding or removing a pool or pool cage; putting in new windows or doors; installing solar panels; putting in a dish; getting a new roof; cutting down a tree; or any project to the exterior of your property), you must submit a written request for approval prior to commencement of any work.
• All requests must be submitted in writing to the Covenants Department
• You must complete the Design Review Application for your project type and include all plans, drawings, colors and materials.
• If you are part of a Condominium Association or Homeowner’s Association you must also have the approval of your neighborhood Association.
Check your neighborhood documents at the Collier County Clerk’s website. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are following your neighborhood guidelines.
All applications require a full submittal and any design review fees that may be applicable prior to the review of any project. If the committee or the Covenants Department feels additional materials are necessary or if it needs any additional information or has any suggestions for change, the application will be denied for incompleteness. A letter will be sent to the applicant outlining the requirements for re-submission.
The DRC review provides verification that the proposed modifications and/or improvements meet the Foundation and Neighborhood governing documents, guidelines and requirements. It does not assure compliance with the appropriate building codes or requirements of the Collier County Building Department.
