The entire Pelican Bay Foundation team is dedicated to providing a safe and secure experience to all members and their guests, as well as a safe work environment for all staff, vendors and suppliers. The Safety & Security Department spearheads these efforts, including:

Emergency Response

All year-round Safety & Security team members have been trained and certified as Emergency First Responders for medical emergencies, in order to assist with initial calls prior to EMS arrival. Plus, all year-round Foundation staff members are certified in:

  • CPR,
  • First Aid, and
  • use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

In fact, there are various AEDs deployed throughout Pelican Bay, strategically placed for fastest response time in case of an emergency. First Aid boxes are also located at all PBF facilities for immediate treatment of injuries.

Safety

Silver 911 Emergency Phones have been installed throughout Pelican Bay. Pressing the call button provides a direct connection with a 911 operator – and because cell towers can’t always provide 911 operators with a precise location, it’s a better option than using a mobile phone. Emergency Phones are located at:

  • All Tram Stations (except Tram Station 1)
  • The Commons (front door near handicap ramp)
  • North Tennis Center
  • South Tennis Center
  • Community Center (1st and 2nd floors)

The Safety & Security team also maintains an extensive two-way radio system – connecting all departments and allowing for instantaneous communication of lightning alerts or other safety issues – as well as robust fire and surveillance systems.

Access Control

Pelican Bay’s exclusive amenities are the cornerstone of our community – keeping property values strong and the lifestyle here inimitable, as well as helping protect the community’s valuable natural resources. The Safety & Security Department helps ensure members-only access by verifying Foundation-issued identification at key entry points.

Special Needs Transportation

A wheelchair-accessible tram is available for use by appointment, by calling the front desk of The Commons at 239-597-8081. To avoid long waits, please place reservations 24 hours in advance and on a first-come, first serve basis.

Kayak & Canoe Usage

The Safety & Security Department also coordinates kayak and canoe usage for inner Clam Bay, from Tram Station 6.

Lost & Found

Looking for a lost item? Call the Front Desk at 239-597-8081 to see if it’s in the Lost & Found. After hours, members may call the Security Captain at 239-877-7573.
