The Pelican Bay Foundation is currently making preparations and putting precautions in place ahead of Tropical Storm Eta. While tropical storm conditions, with hurricane-force winds possible, are expected by late Sunday to affect Florida according to the National Weather Service, a Tropical Storm Warning is in effect, and we are observing the weather forecasts closely.
The Foundation is currently securing equipment at the beaches, restaurants, outdoor fitness and tennis. Trams have been monitoring wind speeds, and all departments have been implementing protocols in anticipation for such severe weather conditions. The Foundation has made the determination that for the safety of members and staff, we will be closing all beach, tram, restaurants, beach fitness/outdoor functional fitness and tennis operations on Sunday, November 8 and Monday, November 9, 2020. The Foundation will continue to monitor weather conditions and will keep the community apprised of any changes or new developments. Please continue to monitor the Foundation web site, e-newsletters, the mobile app and the digital reader boards for updates. Members are encouraged to take individual precautions and plan ahead by shopping for water, nonperishable foods, supplies, and fuel. Be proactive and make a plan! Ahead of Tropical Storm Eta’s arrival, the Foundation wants to provide members with several different resources to have the latest information.
