Recent trends have shown a reduction in COVID-19 related protocols across the nation. Pelican Bay is also preparing for a reduction of current protocols and moving towards a full re-opening. While some changes implemented during the pandemic will stay, such as credit card only payment methods and tram drivers only in the front seat, others will be disappearing…and soon.
At the May 14, 2021 Pelican Bay Board of Directors meeting, the consensus was made to discontinue mask requirements on property effective June 10, 2021. This date was considered for its two-week duration after the last Pelican Bay vaccine clinic date. This means that all Pelican Bay community members that chose to have the vaccine will have received one and would be in the two-week post-vaccine timeframe for effectiveness.
As of today, approximately 60% of Southwest Florida is not fully vaccinated, therefore until June 10, please continue to follow guidance intended to protect all members of our community and continue adherence to current protocols requiring masks on Pelican Bay property. We appreciate the collective community support as we transition out of this pandemic and look forward to resuming normal operations. We will continue to communicate time-sensitive changes in Today in the Bay, and post information on the Foundation website at pelicanbay.org.
