The South Boardwalk remediation project has been progressing well this summer which has included the ongoing removal and replacement of damaged wood components and the repair of distressed reinforced concrete.
During this time, there has been intermittent restricted one-way access for both trams and walkers. However, the project has proceeded in that workers are ready to begin remediating the subdeck structure. This next phase of work necessitates Boardwalk closure for safety reasons.
Therefore, the South Boardwalk will be closed beginning Wednesday, August 25, 2021 throughput October. Consequently, this closure will result in closure of South Beach and Sandbar facility areas. Berm access from Naples Grande to the Commons remains open and unaffected.
South Beach will be unattended during this time and access will be restricted from the beach to the deck areas for construction and safety reasons. No services, amenities, or facilities will be open
It is important to not enter or cross areas which are blocked for construction to ensure your safety.
