The Pelican Bay Foundation was notified this afternoon that an employee from the Tram Department has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result of contact tracing, and in following CDC protocols, we will be closing tram operations and arranging for rapid testing of all Tram staff.

Our tram staff, typically does not have direct face-to-face interaction with passengers, is not exposed to members or guests for longer than 15 minutes, works in an outdoor environment, and trams are sanitized after every trip.

Members and guests will need to walk to and from the beach.  The Foundation will expedite testing of applicable staff and we hope to have service restored as soon as possible.

At this point, the beach and restaurant operations will remain open. 

Please note that the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other privacy laws prohibit us from disclosing any employee name or any other medical/health information. However, we can tell you that all staff will continue to monitor for symptoms. Staff continues to remain vigilant in mask-wearing and social distancing protocols.  We apologize for any inconvenience, but again, have opted for aggressive precautionary measures.
